DON’T CHANGE THE WORLD
Once, there was a king who ruled a wealthy country. One day, he traveled to distant parts of his kingdom. When he returned to his palace, he complained of very sore feet. It was his first long journey, and the roads were rough and full of stones.
He decided that all the roads in the entire country should be covered with leather to prevent such discomfort in the future. This would require thousands of cow skins and cost a vast amount of money.
One of his wise servants bravely suggested, “Why spend so much money unnecessarily? Why not just cut a small piece of leather to cover your feet?”
The king was surprised but agreed to the suggestion. He had a pair of shoes made for himself.
Moral – There is actually a valuable lesson of life in this story: to make this world a happy place to live, you better change yourself – your heart; and not the world.

The Shade of the Plane Tree
One summer day, two men were walking along a dusty road. The sun was blazing, and soon, they became too tired to continue. Looking around for a place to rest, they spotted a large plane tree nearby. Grateful for the shade, they sat down beneath its broad branches, enjoying the cool relief from the scorching heat.
As they lay there, one man looked up at the tree and remarked to his companion, “What a useless tree this is! It doesn’t bear any fruit or nuts for us to eat, and its wood isn’t even useful for building or making furniture.”
Hearing this, the tree gently rustled its leaves and responded, “How ungrateful you are! At this very moment, I am giving you shade and comfort from the burning sun, yet you call me useless?”
Moral: Every creation of God has a purpose, even if we do not always see it.
