Passage – 1 [HINDI]

कल मेरी मुलाकात एक रिक्शा चालक से हुई। उसका नाम सोहम था। उसका परिवार बहुत बड़ा था। उसकी हालत दयनीय थी। उसे सुबह से शाम तक रिक्शा खींचना पड़ता है। उसके स्वास्थ्य पर इसका बुरा असर पड़ता है। वह कभी-कभी खासता है और खून की उलटी भी है पर वह मजबूर है। उसका कोई सहायक नहीं है। मैंने उसे समझाया कि किसी डॉक्टर से जाकर के मिले। इतना सुनने पर उसने कहा कि मेरे पास इतने पैसे नहीं है कि मैं डॉक्टर से जाकर मिलूं। मैंने उसे और समझाया कि अगर वह डॉक्टर से सही समय पर नहीं मिला तो उसकी जान भी जा सकती है। मैंने उससे कहा कि कुछ दिन के लिए काम करना छोड़ दो, लेकिन वह कहने लगा कि अगर मैं काम करना छोड़ दूं तो मेरे परिवार भूखे मर जाएंगे।

Passage – 1 [ENGLISH]

Yesterday I met with a rickshaw puller. His name was Soham. He had a  big family. His condition was pathetic. He has to pull a rickshaw from morning to evening. It has a bad effect on his health. He sometimes coughs and vomits blood but he is helpless. He has no helper. I told him to go and see a doctor. On hearing this, he said that I do not have enough money to go and see the doctor. I further explained to him that if he did not meet the doctor at the right time, he might even die. I told him to stop working for a few days, but he started saying that if I stop working, my family will die of hunger.

Passage – 2 [HINDI]

किसी गांव में एक गरीब किसान रहता था। उसके चार बेटे थे। पर चारों के चारों बड़े आलसी थे। वे लोग दिनभर कुछ नहीं करते थे। वे अपने दोस्तों के साथ बैठकर सिर्फ गप्पे हाँकते थे। यह सब देखकर किसान बहुत दुखी रहता था। एक दिन उसने अपने बेटे को पास बुलाया, और सभी से कहा कि बहुत समय पहले, मैंने अपने खेतों में कुछ धन गाड़ के रखे थे। अब मैं बूढ़ा हो गया हूँ और मैं उस धन को अब नहीं ढूंढ सकता हूँ, और मुझे अब जरूरत भी नहीं है। अगर तुमलोग बैठे-बैठे कुछ नहीं करोगे तो जाओ खेतों में और उस गड़े हुए खजाने को ढूंढ लाओ।

इतना सुनते ही, सभी बेटे खुश हुए और खेतों में खजाना ढूंढने चले गए। बहुत ढूंढने पर खजाना तो नहीं मिला लेकिन उनके खेत पूरी तरह से जुत गए। जिसके बाद सभी बेटों में से एक थोड़ा सा समझदार बेटा उन खेतों में कुछ बीज बो दिए। कुछ समय बाद उन लोगों को बहुत फसल प्राप्त हुआ। इसी बीच उनके पापा का देहांत हो गया। लेकिन जब फसल बेचकर पैसे मिले, तब सभी को समझ में आया कि पापा हम लोगों को ऐसा क्यों कहा की मैंने खेतों में खजाने छुपाकर मैंने रखा है।

Passage – 2 [ENGLISH]

A poor farmer lived in a village. He had four sons. But all four were very lazy. They used to do nothing all day long. He used to sit with his friends and just gossip. Seeing all this, the farmer was very sad. One day he called his son over, and told everyone that long ago, I had buried some money in my fields. Now I’m old and I can’t find that money anymore, and I don’t need it anymore. If you people will sit and do nothing, then go to the fields and find that buried treasure.

On hearing this, all the sons were happy and went to the fields to find the treasure. The treasure was not found after searching a lot, but his fields were completely plowed. After which one of the sons, a little wiser, sowed some seeds in those fields. After some time they got a lot of crops. Meanwhile, his father passed away. But when the money was received by selling the crop, then everyone understood that why father told us that I have kept the treasures hidden in the fields.
