Meera and Monika

Meera and Monika are on holiday in London. Spoken English Practice Exercise. They have known each other for several years, since university. Meera is an art historian and Monika is an author of crime and mystery books. They are in the hotel on the first day of their trip. It’s a hot and sunny day.

Monika: Morning Meera! How did you sleep?
मोनिका: गुड मॉर्निंग मीरा! कैसी नींद आई?

Meera: Great! You?
मीरा: बढ़िया! और आप?

Monika: Yeah, me too. What do you want to do today?
मोनिका: हाँ, मैं भी। आप आज क्या करना चाहते हैं?

Meera: Hmm…. I feel like going to a market!
मीरा: हम्म…. बाजार जाने का मन कर रहा है !

Monika: Great! A food market?
मोनिका: बढ़िया! एक खाद्य बाजार?

Meera: No, I want to go to an antiques market.
मीरा : नहीं, मुझे प्राचीन वस्तुओं के बाजार में जाना है।

Monika: Sounds good. Do you know of one?
मोनिका: अच्छा है। क्या आप किसी एक बाजार के बारे में जानते हैं?

Meera: No, I’ll have a look on my phone…. There’s one in Camden Market.
मीरा: नहीं, मैं अपने फोन पर एक नजर डालूंगी…. कैमडेन मार्केट में एक है।

Monika: Perfect. Does it open on Saturdays?
मोनिका: बिल्कुल सही। क्या यह शनिवार को खुलता है?

Meera: Yes, it opens early morning every Saturday. It’s 11 now.
मीरा: हाँ, यह हर शनिवार को सुबह जल्दी खुलती है। अभी 11 बज रहे हैं।

Monika: Perfect! Where is it?
मोनिका: बिल्कुल सही! कहाँ है?

Meera: Funnily enough, it’s in an area called Camden, in North London…. It’s a bit far. We can get a cab.
मीरा: हैरानी की बात है कि यह उत्तरी लंदन में कैमडेन नामक क्षेत्र में है…। यह थोड़ा दूर है। हमें कैब मिल सकती है।

Monika: Sounds good. Let’s go!
मोनिका: अच्छा लगता है। चलिए चलते हैं!
