TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER

Hello students, today I am posting a conversation between two friends who are talking about weather condition in their area. This post ‘Daily English Conversation – Spoken English’ is updated at regular intervl. The best part of this post is that all the English sentences have been translated into Hindi also. Go through this conversation at the top of the voice at least five times.

Situation: Annu and Meera talk while walking to their next class.

स्थिति: अन्नू और मीरा अपनी अगली कक्षा में जाते समय बात करते हैं।

Annu:- Oh, it feels so cold this morning.

अन्नू: – ओह, आज सुबह इतनी ठंड महसूस हो रही है।

Meera:- It sure is. Early this morning my car’s windshield was covered with frost. I had to spray it with water before I could head to school.

मीरा: – यह निश्चित है। आज सुबह मेरी कार का विंडशील्ड ठंढ से ढका हुआ था। स्कूल जाने से पहले मुझे इसे पानी से स्प्रे करना पड़ा था।

Annu:- Who would have thought it could be this cold in early December, especially in California.

अन्नू: – किसने सोचा होगा कि दिसंबर की शुरुआत में यह ठंड हो सकती है, खासकर कैलिफोर्निया में।

Meera:- I know. The temperature was 35 degrees Fahrenheit when I woke up this morning. I was freezing as soon as I got out of bed. The cold weather just hit me by surprise.

मीरा: – मुझे पता है। आज सुबह जब मैं जागा तो तापमान 35 डिग्री फ़ारेनहाइट था। बिस्तर से बाहर निकलते ही मैं जम गया था। ठंड के मौसम ने मुझे आश्चर्यचकित कर दिया।

Annu:- I cannot remember when it was this cold in early December.

अन्नू: – मुझे याद नहीं कि दिसंबर की शुरुआत में इतनी ठंड कब थी।

Meera:- Brace yourself for the rain this afternoon. Cold and wet, Yuck!

मीरा: – आज दोपहर बारिश के लिए अपने आप को संभालो। ठंडा और गीला, यक!

Annu:- It is going to rain this afternoon?

अन्नू: – आज दोपहर बारिश होने वाली है?

Meera:- Not only this afternoon, but also the rest of the week.

मीरा: – आज दोपहर ही नहीं, सप्ताह के बाकी दिन भी।

Annu:- Oh, it is going to be miserable. I have a full class schedule today and tomorrow. To walk from class to class, I will have to juggle my books and my umbrella trying not to get wet.

अन्नू: – ओह, यह दुखी करने वाला है। मेरा आज और कल का फुल क्लास शेड्यूल है। कक्षा से कक्षा तक चलने के लिए, मुझे अपनी किताबों और अपनी छतरी को टटोलना होगा, ताकि वे गीले न हों।

Meera:- You carry too many books. Why don’t you leave some of them in your locker?

मीरा: – आप बहुत सी किताबें ले जाते हैं। आप उनमें से कुछ को अपने लॉकर में क्यों नहीं छोड़ते?

Annu:- My locker is a long way from my English classes. This is the reason why I carry all my books with me. Is it going to rain hard or just drizzle?

अन्नू: – मेरा लॉकर मेरी अंग्रेजी कक्षाओं से एक लंबा रास्ता है। यही कारण है कि मैं अपनी सारी किताबें अपने साथ ले जाता हूं। क्या जोरदार या सिर्फ रिमझिम बारिश होने वाली है?

Meera:- The news said that it would start to drizzle around noon, and then it would rain really hard by three o’clock.

मीरा: – समाचार में कहा गया है कि दोपहर के आस-पास बूंदा-बांदी शुरू हो जाएगी, और फिर तीन बजे तक वास्तव में बारिश होगी।

Annu:- No hope for better weather this week?

अन्नू: – इस सप्ताह बेहतर मौसम की कोई उम्मीद नहीं है?

Meera:- There is a slim chance of sunshine by Saturday. However, it will be foggy, windy, and rainy before the sun comes out this weekend.

मीरा: – शनिवार तक धूप की हल्की संभावना है। हालांकि, इस सप्ताह के अंत में सूरज निकलने से पहले धुंधली, हवा और बारिश होगी।

Annu:- I am glad that it rains even though I do not like rainy weather. We have a very dry season so far this year.

अन्नू: – मुझे खुशी है कि मुझे बारिश का मौसम पसंद नहीं है फिर भी बारिश होती है। इस साल अभी तक हमारे पास बहुत शुष्क मौसम है।

Meera:- Yes, I can hardly remember when it rained last time. Well, as long as there is no thunder or lightning, I can bear it.

मीरा: – हां, मुझे शायद ही याद होगा जब पिछली बार बारिश हुई थी। खैर, जब तक कोई गड़गड़ाहट या बिजली नहीं है, मैं इसे सहन कर सकता हूं।

Annu:- We rarely have thunder or lightning in California.

अन्नू: – शायद ही कभी कैलिफोर्निया में गड़गड़ाहट या बिजली होती है।

Meera:- We are very lucky that California has one of the best weather conditions in America. When it is hot, it is not humid; when it rains, there is no thunder or lightning, and the cold weather during the winter season is quite mild compared to the weather of the other states.

मीरा: – हम बहुत भाग्यशाली हैं कि कैलिफ़ोर्निया में अमेरिका की सबसे अच्छी मौसम की स्थिति है। जब यह गर्म होता है, तो यह आर्द्र नहीं होता है; जब बारिश होती है, तो कोई गड़गड़ाहट या बिजली नहीं होती है, और सर्दियों के मौसम के दौरान ठंड अन्य राज्यों के मौसम की तुलना में काफी हल्की होती है।

Annu:- Yes, we are lucky. However, sometimes when I look at the Christmas pictures, I just wish we had some snow. It looks so pretty when everything is covered by a blanket of pure white snow.

अन्नू: – हाँ, हम भाग्यशाली हैं। हालांकि, कभी-कभी जब मैं क्रिसमस की तस्वीरों को देखता हूं, तो मैं चाहता हूं कि हमारे पास कुछ बर्फ हो। यह बहुत सुंदर लगता है जब सब कुछ शुद्ध सफेद बर्फ के एक कंबल द्वारा कवर किया जाता है।

Daily English Conversation – Spoken English

Meera:- Living in southern California all my life, I have never seen snow. I would not mind playing in the snow once in a while.

मीरा: – सारी जिंदगी दक्षिणी कैलिफोर्निया में रहना, मैंने कभी बर्फ नहीं देखी। मुझे एक बार बर्फ में खेलने से कोई दिक्क्त नहीं होगी।

Annu:- Yes, it would be fun to make a snowman or go skiing.

अन्नू: – हाँ, स्नोमैन बनाने या स्कीइंग करने में मज़ा आएगा।

Meera:- We have never seen snow; we have never made a snowman, and we have never gone skiing. We better do something about this.

मीरा: – हमने कभी बर्फ नहीं देखी; हमने कभी स्नोमैन नहीं बनाया है, और हम कभी स्कीइंग नहीं करते हैं। हम इस बारे में कुछ बेहतर करते हैं।

Annu:- May be we should plan a trip to Aspen, Colorado during winter break. I heard that the skiing season is fantastic up there.

अन्नू: – हो सकता है कि हमें शीतकालीन अवकाश के दौरान एस्पेन, कोलोराडो की यात्रा की योजना बनानी चाहिए। मैंने सुना है कि स्कीइंग का मौसम वहाँ शानदार होता है।

Meera:- I don’t think we can afford a trip to Aspen. It is very expensive up there.

मीरा: – मुझे नहीं लगता कि हम एस्पेन की यात्रा का खर्च उठा सकते हैं। वहाँ बहुत महंगा है।

Annu:- I am just wishing. I know what I will be doing during winter break. I will be working very hard to save money for a new car.

अन्नू: – मैं बस चाह रही हूँ। मुझे पता है कि मैं सर्दियों के ब्रेक के दौरान क्या करूंगा। मैं एक नई कार के लिए पैसे बचाने के लिए बहुत मेहनत करूंगा।

Meera:- With the cars that we drive, it is better that we live in a place where there is no snow.

मीरा: – जिन कारों के साथ हम ड्राइव करते हैं, यह बेहतर है कि हम ऐसी जगह पर रहें जहां बर्फ न हो।

Annu:- You are right, we are better off with no snow. Ok, I have class right now; see you later in the library.

अन्नू: – आप सही कह रहे हैं, हम बिना बर्फ से बेहतर हैं। ठीक है, मेरे पास अभी कक्षा है, आपको बाद में पुस्तकालय में मिलते हैं।

Meera:- See you later.

मीरा: – बाद में मिलते हैं।
