Common Errors Asked in SSC CGL 2021 Solution

Solution: 1. (c) Quiet is an adjective that means with very little or no noise and ‘Quite’ is an adverb used to emphasize something. However, the given phrase does not talk about any sound or noise. Therefore, ‘both are quite unpleasant experiences’ is the most appropriate response.

Solution:2. (d) “Had + past participle _________ would have + past participle” is grammatically the correct structure for the given phrase. Therefore, ‘we would’ is the most appropriate response.

Solution:3. (c) The phrase ‘hardly any’ means almost none. Similarly, the given phrase states that the woodcutter felled some trees with almost no effort at all. However, ‘many’ will never be used with words like hardly, scarcely, barely because these words have an opposite meaning. Therefore, ‘any effort at all’ is the most appropriate response.

Solution:4. (b) Without error. The sentence is grammatically correct.
