Teacher: Hi, Alex. Why are you wearing your regular clothes instead of your school uniform today?

Alex: I’m sorry, Teacher. Most of my clothes are at the laundry, but I didn’t want to miss school.

Teacher: That’s good, you shouldn’t miss school. Let me explain, Alex, that the school uniform is not just for show or to look nice, but it’s a symbol of our identity and unity with the school.

Alex: Can you please explain that, sir?

Teacher: Certainly. When you wear your school uniform, it shows that you belong to the school and that you are proud of it. But when you don’t wear the uniform, it looks like you belong to any of the many different families. Your identity gets lost.

Alex: But my parents teach me about dressing appropriately for different occasions. Isn’t that enough, sir?

Teacher: Yes, Of course. Your home is where you learn a lot of basic things from your parents. I agree with that. But how many families are as well-off or educated as yours? What about the children from uneducated or economically struggling families?

Alex: I’m really sorry, sir. Today when I entered the class, everyone looked at me as if I were an unexpected stranger.

Teacher: Now do you understand why I emphasize the importance of the school uniform?

Alex: Yes, sir. I won’t make the same mistake again.

Teacher: Thank you.
