A dialogue between a housewife and a hawker

Housewife: Excuse me.

Hawker: Yes, how can I help you?

Housewife: I’d like to buy some vegetables. Do you have onions?

Hawker: Certainly, here they are. How much are you looking to buy?

Housewife: I’m not sure. Could you please tell me the price per kilogram?

Hawker: The onions are priced at Rs. 25/kg.

Housewife: Oh my God, that’s quite expensive. Just yesterday, I purchased them for Rs. 16/kg.

Hawker: You’re absolutely right. I was also selling them at that same price yesterday. But, Unfortunately, the market rates have risen significantly today.

Housewife: What about cabbage? How much does it cost?

Hawker: Cabbage is priced at Rs. 10/kg, and it’s quite fresh.

A dialogue between a housewife and a hawker

Housewife: It seems like everything has become very expensive these days.

Hawker: Yes, it’s becoming increasingly challenging for people with limited means to make both ends meet.

Housewife: Is there anything that is more affordable nowadays?

Hawker: Well, even after working all day, we hardly manage to earn around Rs. 100 or 150.

Housewife: That’s tough. Alright, please give me 1 kg of onions, half a kilogram of cabbage, and some coriander leaves for one rupee.

Hawker: Here you go.

Housewife: How much does it all come to?

Hawker: It totals Rs. 20.

Housewife: Here’s the money.

Hawker: Thank you, and have a great day.
